The lodge is a monument-document of the 1600’s Aosta Valley architecture, so it has been restored with strict rules imposed by the Department of Cultural Heritage of the Aosta Valley.
The most expensive interventions but the most fascinating and with the best results are the numbered disassembly, the recovery and the repositioning of the exterior stone and wood parts, dating back to 1600 again.
The construction consists of a central body to which over time have been added two small towers, so that inside the four small accommodations are on more levels.
They have turned out two three-room apartments, in the under-floor and in the attic, and two two-room apartments, in the middle floor.
The apartments are named after the color that predominates inside (Orange, Celeste).
The lodge is equipped with a form of radiant panels electric heating, partly powered by the photovoltaic system fully integrated into the south layer of the roof. The hot water also comes from electric boilers, this allows that the negative emissions into the surrounding uncontaminated environment are null.
Around, on three levels, there are usable green areas for the relax or the barbecue.
The parking space outside or inside (covered parking at 20 m) is ensured by the large square of the Cervino Spa ski lift of Valtournenche which overlooks the lodge.
In the tourist season there is a service-shuttle for the center of the village that is possible to reach afoot also in about 10 minutes, along the Marmore stream, through a path, also gymnastic, just prepared (very beautiful and easy naturalistic walk).
For the lovers of the ski the lodge is found just to the arrival of the famous track of re-enters of the Cervino ski area on Valtournenche, named “Reine Blanche”, one of the longest tracks of Europe, traveled every day from hundred of skiers coming also from the Zermatt neighbor.
Is not perhaps understood but are to the arrival of one of the greatest European skiing area, Valtournenche-Cervinia-Zermatt, everything to the feet of the 'more beautiful rock of Europe', the Gran Becca, the Matterhorn!! Superb and enchanted in his magnificence of 4478 mt of height!!
Just in the same square there is the station of departure of the cable car of Valtournenche-Salette, that connects us with the Cervinia tracks, as well as for the summer trekking and mountaineering tracks. Next to the ticket office of the station there is a Bar-Restaurant 'Le Moulin' and ski rental and reparation shop 'Noleggio Pession', service that applies good prices to the Baita Glaea’s clients.
What we cannot describe in words is the natural and geological heritage that surround us and that can be evaluated and fully appreciated only on place….
We hope to see you soon!!!
